This is Asparagopsis taxifomis sensu lato. The 'Asparagopsis taxifomis' of the Mediterranean consists of two cryptic species, one of which is an Erythraean immigrant (Lessepsian migrant) and the other is is of Atlantic affinity and may or may not be native.
