This specimen of Callinectes sapidus (just one) was swimming really fast right under the sea surface at a distance of a 3\/4 meters from the see shore (beach) in shallow water with no more than 2 meters depth.
The size of the carapace was ~10mm, taken between the two longer lateral spikes. The color of the body, partly translucent, was a perfect camoufflage with the clear, sandy substrate.
Considering its size, it was certainly a juvenile stage of this species of crab.
